Fiber
There are many different types of fibers such as wool, silk, polypropylene, PTT and other different types of blends. However the two most common are Nylon and polyester.
Nylon:
Nylon carpet is a synthetic fiber. Its typically found in more expensive carpets. Nylon is the first truly synthetic fiber. Nylon is a strong fiber and as such, It is one of the strongest types of carpets to date. However there are cons to all carpets. It is also the most likely to absorbs spills and dirt. With proper cleaning and maintenance it will out last many other fibers.
PET:
PET also know as polyester carpet. PET carpets are typical a softer carpet, Its also normal less expensive compared to other fibers. Also It is a synthetic fiber giving it more of a stain resistance.
Carpet Styles
With in the fiber there are also different styles of carpet such as:
BERBER CARPETING:
Berber carpet began as a widely used commercial grade carpet, but has evolved into a great home carpeting option, and is most commonly used in basements, home offices and family rooms.
PLUSH CARPETING:
Plush carpeting is a type of cut pile carpeting. There are several advantages to the use of plush carpeting. One of the benefits is a comfortable covering for the floors in the home.
CUT AND LOOP CARPETING:
Cut and loop is mainly just a blind of both a plush carpet and a Berber carpet. By combining the two carpets it will give you different textures and different patterns of carpet.
